@MSLG: what don't you like about Waters's bass playing?

What if "Waiting for the Worms" and "Run Like Hell" were switched? "Run Like Hell" makes for an excellent ending.

"If they took 1 disc worth of the best songs on here, it'd probably be a 4.5 to me. Hold on...

1.In the Flesh?
2.The Happiest Days of Our Lives
3.Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) [renamed to just "Another Brick in the Wall" since there'd be no 1 or 3]
4.Mother
5.Goodbye Blue Sky
6.Young Lust
7.One of My Turns
8.Hey You
9.Comfortably Numb
10.In the Flesh
11.Run Like Hell
12.Waiting for the Worms"

Did you seriously just compile a best-of from this album without including The Trial?

Yes. "The Trial" is probably one of my least favorite songs by them ever.

Hmm Fripp, I guess you have a point. My point really wasn't the order though, it was more the tracks themselves.

Um sir, you need The Trial, one of the best songs on the album and it serves as a great closer for the story.

@Ars: How do you not like The Trial? It's absolutely mental!

I once wrote an essay about that song. Can't believe a person could actually consider it one of their worst. Literally does not compute, man

Sigh. I am tearing my eyes out here.

It effectively summarizes why this album is so awesome; it brings the concept full-circle; it has one of the coolest visual accompaniments ever; it's musically and conceptually one of their most innovative and forward-thinking pieces.

Honestly I prefer Outside the Wall as a piece which brings the album full-circle

If I had to choose I'd choose Outside the Wall

Why not put both into one song?

Because... they don't fit together?

But they do, the ending of The Trial segues perfectly into Outside The Wall

Yeah the sequencing is perfect, I thought it was all one song when I first heard it

That's true but I mean the Trial ends so perfectly with the sound of the wall coming down

It would be weird to me if there were another minute of the song after that

The Trial mostly sucks, as does Outside The Wall. I get what they were going for, it just fails as being anything else than an extremely cheesy attempt at an epic climax.

I can see your point, but there's already another minute of a song afterwards so it really doesn't change anything. Besides, it's not like you're gonna listen to The Trial out of context or anything, it will all be the same in the grand scheme of things and it cleans up the track-listing.

Horrible opinions itt. At least the general consensus is that this is excellent

The Trial is cheesy maybe

Outside the Wall is perfectly understated and a brilliant way to end the record
