White Chapel seem to tour 24/7, they know there's other Prog Deathcore bands out there right?

I think it’s absolutely hilarious they haven’t booked “similar” bands to play them it’s super based

I’m amazed whitechapel is still around honestly, i remember seeing them like 1.5 decades ago at mayhem fest, are they still making the same kind of stuff?

Kinda. They added some cleans and went in a more melodic direction. It’s a lot better than description lets on

hahaha yeah the bands that "sound" similar to meshuggah have a far different fanbase in my experience.

meshuggah gets a pretty standard metal crowd. periphery for instance (and i assume the other 2010s djent bands) get a buncha not very serious dudes in their early 20s wearing normal clothes for the most part (kinda sounds like me???????)

i can def see the core-meshuggah fanbase finding in flames more appealing than a djent band. djent fans love and respect meshuggah but meshuggah fans are not always "djent fans" just meshuggah fans lol

@norma would def say the newer whitechapel stuff has a sorta deftones bent to it. seems to be their most popular material these days. in fact they only seemed to play stuff their newer stuff when i saw them, while playing only one deathcore sounding song

New Whitechapel destroys their old stuff for me, way more melodic and interesting. Also really enjoyed the last In Flames album.

Already have my tickets for that show. I really like the variety in the bands even if I can't stand Voivod personally haha.

they came to pittsburgh last time so i guess it makes sense they'd hit the other side of the state this round but I'm still NOT happy about it :|

Have my tickets for MTL, really curious to see Meshuggah live since I don't like that much on record usually.

It happened guys. I have waited fifteen fucking years for Meshuggah to come to Alberta. This November, my very last Bucket List Band comes to my city. I am so elated.

Saw them on the last tour and will absolutely be seeing them again.

Meshuggah is the greatest live band working right now & the best metal band of the 21st century fight me.
