Noooo Fantano's review on this was absolute balls, though

yeah it wasn't a good review. his critique felt shallow. felt like he was basically complaining it was a meshuggah album

What he said about the riffs being spit out by a Meshuggah algorithm was dead on though, the riffs on this are balls and even the production is god awful. This thing feels utterly bloodless, like robots from the (near) future made this.

Can't decide whether Clockworks or Stengah is a better opener. They are bulldozers to the fucking face.

Clockworks is decent, mostly just impressive on a technical level. Stengah is a better opener and let's face it, Nothing shits on this in every aspect

Clockworks is Gilles Deleuze's model for rhizomatic development applied to 8-string grooves and schizophrenic rhythms. Everything branches into chaos and unpredictability, but does so in synchronisation maintaining a sense of wholeness.

The ending of By The Ton alone was pretty unpredictable imo

I want to like this so bad I would happily murder you and eat your bodies in the off-chance that by some transitive property I would gain any appreciation for this album.

Maybe if I eat Lucca's leg with the cover art of this I will transcend and understand the glory
