For me The National, Kayo Dot, Ulver, Steven Wilson, and Alcest in no order. High Violet is my favorite album of the decade and Ecailles #2
I need to hear more recent Dir En Grey, I've only heard their first 4 or 5 records and really liked them.

you know as much as i love ulver i didn't really care much for them this decade... i really love war of the roses but otherwise, it's just childhood's end and i guess i liked the live norwegian national opera record a bit. hammock and probably lantlos are my favorites, though i guess alcest is right there too

Actually Ulver haven't made any album in my top 20 of the 2010s, so I guess I can't really say they're in my top 5 bands in that time. They've still released a lot of excellent content starting with Roses though and I listen to them a ton. I guess Radiohead would be in my top 5 then instead, if The King of Limbs: Live from the Basement and all their b-sides count.
