I like it just fine now, it took a while but I'm content with it.

Feiticeira, Change, and Pink Maggit are the only songs I didn't get into.
I already fell in love with the other songs.

Not quite getting the hype for this, if I want dense, layered, heaviness other bands are more impactful in that sense. It's atmospheric but it's often nullified by an over-use of vox, I prefer less vox in music like this - sometimes I just want them to disappear. I mean, it's very good but nothing remarkable.

I think what I'm trying to say is if want heavy & atmospheric the big post-metal bands blow this out of the water. Not quite the same but definitely some similarities & it's my preference.

P.S. Is this album shoegazey? Guess so, sounds it. Not sure where nu-metal comes in, or if it's even supposed to be relevant here.

Sunlight, def give it some more time. You have to realize that when this album came out it raised the bar for everything remotely similar that ever came after. If you listen to the first 2 records and then listen to White Pony, it might also help contextualize why this album is so monumental in their discography if not the genre itself.

Passenger, Change, Digital Bath, Feiticeira, Pink Maggit, RX Queen are stone-cold classics, plain and simple. Though I do think some of the heavier songs like Elite are a bit overrated (they even won a grammy for that fucking song for some reason)

Still wondering how elite won a grammy. Is Chino screaming or whispering the lyrics? I'm so confused

I think Elite winning a grammy was kind of like Denzel winning Oscar for Training Day. The guy deserved it, but that's not REALLY the film that earned him the award in the first place.

I would have given the award to either Iron maiden or pantera. Revolution is my name is one of the few songs in that album which didn't got stupid lyrics

it's a cool song I guess, very repetitive though and overshadowed by pretty much everything else on WP.

...Always did think the lyric 'when you're ripe you'll bleed out of control' was very unsettling especially the way he raspily screams it at me repeatedly.
