And then they'll heal it.

In a way I fear the power of this band. It takes a special momentum to jump in but I never regret it. It’s a weird relationship.

"Started out just so-so with this band but somehow it just clicked the other day and I have been playing nothing but Neurosis for weeks now."

lol for me there's no other way of jamming Neurosis but binging their entire discography. Lately GTTR is hitting me the most whenever I do but everything rules. Massive band, bro.

I made a playlist of every full length Neurosis album back to back. It’s 11 hours and 18 minutes. I always wondered what would happen to a person who sat in a dark room and jammed it straight through.

Sounds like a good time, especially with a steady supply of beer. I'd either be asleep by Honor or so shit-faced that it would actually stand-up to the rest of their discog. Win-win.

Honor is the next one I am going to bounce over to actually, already hit GTTR and below (down to Souls at Zero) and things got too filthy for me. Is Honor really that bad?

What was 'too filthy'?

Not bad, just tame/inconsistent in comparison. Some people like it, personally I was underwhelmed by Honor (and Fires). If there was a fight between their first two and last two, then the first two win easily. Everything in-between is considered their 'golden era', with good reason.

I found Enemy of the Sun to be too raw for my personal tastes, hence the filthy comment haha

chill with that falseness. The last two have some serious strong tracks.

Yeah, no doubt. Honor and Fires aren't their best but they are still both very good albums.

I may not be going out on a limb here, but The Tide is one of my favorite Neurosis songs....literally gets better with every single listen

This and TEOES would be the same for me I think, close enough anyway

TSIB took me about 30 listens before it finally sunk. I always liked Purify and Aeon, but the rest of the record took a long time. Well worth the investment, and easily my favorite.

TEOES was next, and was much more accessible for me on initial listens. This one came after that, and then GTTR, which I also found to be very accessible, even on the first listen. I listen to those 4 albums quite a bit, and those 4 detract me from giving the rest of the discog the time that it needs.

Probably going to take some flak for this, but as a whole, I don't think I enjoy TOG as much as you guys do. Great album, but I find that I need to put a little more work into that one when listening to it in its entirety.

Still need to acclimate to SAZ and EOTS, as I'm unable to pinpoint alot of those songs if you were to randomly play them for me. But they will certainly get their due as far as my attention is concerned.

Also, it's kind of hard to play this stuff when my kids are around (toddlers)....

Times of grace was probably the biggest grower for me. Wasnt crazy about it at first. Probably took 40ish listens for me to fully appreciate it.

Also Titan were u aware that tog has a companion album? Grace by Tribes of Neurot. Iirc, they are meant to be listened to in full sync. I have never done this but it supposedly really enhances it and pulls a lot of things together, maybe that's something for u to explore?
