I remember I was really into this album for a bit because of the Sputnik hype and then it grew off me hard and now I can only listen to like two songs off it (Archers and Luca).

Degausser is one of the most complete songs released in the 21st century.

It starts and ends and has a middle yes

ghost I agree hard with that.
I didn’t grow up in the 80’s, so I might be talking out of my ass, but Master of Puppets and Reign in Blood are both so fucking overrated.

Degausser, Limousine, Jesus Christ: the holy trinity of this album.

What no where is You Won't Know

It’s not there.

There is a special law that says your holy trinity cannot include Degausser and not You Won't Know
even if it's based on adjacent tracks

Album is too damn good to only have a holy trinity.
It’s more like a devout congregation of 12 immensely holy men.

Fair enough.
You Won’t Know is only mid tier here tho (runs off, don’t chase me, I have a gun and it’s loaded bitch)

For me I think that’s why I like it so much though.
You Won’t Know is such a steady build and release of tension, it creeps menacingly until that first chorus lashes out, and then there’s the full on onslaught of the middle section - there’s so much fury and aggression, the vocals are Lacey at his best, the riffs are perfectly simple yet effective. The final calmer section feels like it should be a reprieve, but there’s literally nothing optimistic about it and almost feels like being out of breath, or a stitch in your side from running. Coming directly after Limousine, it feels appropriate.

It is a damn great song. Just not among my handful of absolute favorites here. But I obviously like the entire album seeing as how I have it at a 5.

Meh
Untitled, Archers, and Handcuffs are easily the weakest songs here for me, and they’re the last three songs. Makes the album feel really front heavy. I’d take Sci Fi over this any day.
