This is better than Sorceress, Pale Communion, and Heritage by a country mile

Yeah its not even close. Heritage is good but Sorceress and Pale Communion are both awful.

Nah fuck that I won't give up on the hopes of getting one last DM album from Mikael and company.

Pd: If we do get a Heritage 2.0 I won't be mad either

I remember reading an interview with Steven Wilson about PT’s latest and he said the minute people stopped asking him about PT is when he decided it was time to do it again. Same thing might happen with a growl or two. Mike and Steven are both pretentious kin after all.

Despite I've this album since the last Christmas, it was a present of my older son, only now I finished to listen to this album. As I've the CD with the English and Swedish versions, I listened to both versions. Curiously, I prefer the Swedish version. I find it more to my taste. But, as I don't understand Swedish, I'll still use the English song titles though.

About the album, I'm absolutely amazed with it. Despite I love "Pale Communion", which was before my favourite album of Opeth after "Watershed", I know this is a controversial preference, now I can say that Brendan was right. This is clearly better than "Heitage", "Pale Communion" and "Sorceress". This is a tremendous work without weak points. It's almost perfect. It became my favourite Opeth's album since "Watershed" at this moment. But I need to listening to it a more couple of times to can rate it. But one thing is for sure. With time, my deep admiration to Åkerfeldt doesn't ceases to grow.

I doubt they will ever return to their original progressive death metal sound but a new album sounds good. This is a very good album but I enjoy all their albums and I wouldn't say they have any weak ones in their catalogue.
