@kalkwiese B Sides? Perhaps one of us is missing something. The EP contains songs written by Brent Hinds concerning some messy break-up and he didn't want to include them on any album till a friend insisted it was good material and Hinds realizing there was indeed some potential. Maybe it's true that it was later intended to be part of a double album (along with EoS), but the final decision was to keep it as a stand-alone release. Nowhere near the ''b-sides scrapped off songs'' scenario.

Broke up relation? I thought (and Im pretty sure) it was his leg that broke...maybe both?

There are many reasons why songs aren't included on albums. Being a b-side doesn't mean they're bad or less good imo.

But thtlat EP consists of older songs and isn't necessarily the start of something new or anything. 🤷‍♂️

Well, it's as old if you consider 2014 to be a long time ago. But I defended the songs because you seemed unsatisfied with the idea that they seem to stray away from the usual path here and the result is actually really cool.

I really liked the EP! It's definitely more adventurous than EoS, even though that album is very good

Not necessarily, but a lot of the time it does mean that, in my experience.

CtS is a good album but Blood Mountain does kinda eat it alive

CtS is magnificent, but I'd prefer to witness a ''let-loose'' live version of Blood Mountain

I relistened and idk guys. It's heavy, it has riffs and melodies, but everything just feels kinda neutered. They don't have to sing all the time, they aren't great vocalists anyway, that's why they out so many effects on the vocals. Just let the music speak for itself. It worked so well on Crack The Skye.

This album made me stop checking their other stuff. I might check the rest in the somewhat near future

CtS and BM are their best albums imo. Can’t choose one over the other.

Honestly the overall production, vocal effects, etc work incredibly well together within the context of the sound this record is putting forward imo. Actually part of why I like this as much as I do.

This has their worst production job imo.
