I was listening to it with the video playing but that made me want to puke so closed my eyes...it sounds like totally disposable pop with a couple of her vocal tics thrown in to signpost 'yooooou're listening to Grimes' but without those I swear everyone here would have failed a blind test to work out who they were listening to.

Disposable, sugary pop? Wow that is just so inaccurate. People are way too critical of pop music in general though (I mean this album is pretty damn poppy too). I thought the new song has a lot of cool nuances buried under the mix, and the hook is irresistible. And that short second track is gorgeous

Fish, there is youtube clips of the other songs, they sound very electronic driven sound-wise, so people who are turned off by the single, I wouldn't worry just yet. Grimes will be Grimes no matter what. I agree that the single is solid as fuck, it's so catchy. Cannot wait. As for people saying about the scrapped album, she did say that maybe one day she'd release it for free.
