IDK, made it through family divorce, losing my first girlfriend, losing my job, my health, my friends, my clean criminal record, all without shedding a tear. I give full credit to this album.

Can you explain why, Malleus?
My knowledge of metalcore is pretty limited

ive kinda gone over it in past posts in this thread, but basically i feel like this is the same album as of malice and the magnum heart (which i very much enjoy and would probably give 3.5 or 4) only this has sterilised production, more sap and less raw emotion imo.

It's great Malleus. I haven't listened to this in forever though, I'm waiting for the next snow storm this winter because it fits the mood perfectly. I used to jam this all the time.

some of the breakdowns feel tacked on and completely unnecessary this band is better than that bros

"think about it; this album basically has the same intentions that Malice and the Magnum Heart had. Its just a more sterilised and estrogen infused version. theres nothing on Controller that even comes CLOSE to The Year Summer Ended in June, which is a song that manages to infuse the same ideas of "relaxed" and emotional melodic elements found on Controller, but to me just sounds waaaayyyy better. still produced by Townsend. just not as tame and pulled back. The vocals sound much more sincere. Way more raw. God I love Malice and the Magnum Heart."
yea i was clearly in a very misery signals mood that day

I pretty much like em both the same but I wish this had more chaotic hardcore elements like Malice had, but in the end though the songs are all still so good. Malice was emotionally raw which I can see you really like about it. There is alot of breakdowns on Controller but their all well thought out and good imo.
