if anything, people would like it less. people who were already fans of Agalloch may have gone easy on it because its by a band they already know and love. we all wanted to like it. which i do, but not very much.
John even admitted it was written during a period of creative stagnation, so it makes sense to me that it's not as good as the rest of their work.
