MCRs first two were great.

Geoff Rickly is one of the most overrated people in the scene.
Most of his career was spent singing "rly deep and cryptic" lyrics about train tracks and other crap.
Shit, he didn't even sing on key until City.
Common Existence was awesome tho.

As if singing on key was a thing that most Emo/Post-Hardcore bands did. I dont remember hearing much about train tracks on any Thursday song other than Counting 5-4-3-2-1.

There are multiple references on Common Existence.
Subway Funeral is one that comes to mind.

Geoff Rickly is a dork, Mclovin...

As if singing on key was a thing [2]
Never thought of Rickly as cryptic tbh, he just sings gettable, well-crafted snapshots of urban anxiety applied to various personal contexts
Criticising Subway Funeral for having train imagery is like criticising Yellow Submarine for, uh, submarine imagery. Dumb point.

I'm not critical of the song, it's a good song from a good album.
He's claiming that trains, subways and tracks aren't referrenced in their music bar one song. I just gave him another.

Oh lol fair, my bad. Lexi, that song is top 10 Thursday how dare you forget it ;]

Blanket statements like that don’t really do much to convince me that Geoff isn’t one of the most talented and influential figures in modern emo/post-hardcore, you’ll have to be more specific

*She
And even with that in mind its still not so common that id say its most of his career.

When'd the avg go down to 4.4? I remember it being there when I joined a decade ago, then going up to 4.5 a year or two later
