This has been my MO for the last five or so years and is unlikely to change any time soon ;]

zak Daisy is less postulation and more overdrive, you'll probably hate it too but it'll be for different reasons (promise)

‘less postulation and more overdrive‘
I actually think we finally have the the epitaph for rock n roll. Nice one John.
“Rock died but remains timeless.
1955-1997
‘less postulation and more overdrive’”

Black Parade eats this alive sorry dude

Black Parade is mostly just watered down Thursday melodies dipped into annoying theatrical bullshit arena pop rock.
First two MCR are way better. Bullets had betterguitarwork with a nice raw production and more unhinged vocal performances. Three Cheers was a step closer to Black Parade but still maintained most of the good stuff of Bullets.

Hmm I've never associated Thursday with post-Three Cheers MCR that heavily, gonna have to investigate. Best Thursday also eats this alive though, so that figures
"annoying theatrical bullshit arena pop rock"
Yes absolutely but it owns that style so deliciously mmm. Three Cheers is great but it doesn't have the same scale imo and I haven't jammed the debut in years

Had some friends that loved MCR back in the day, probs during three cheers/black parade time when they were super popular, but I remember thinking they were kind of terrible.

I mostly say that about the first few tracks tbf.
And yeah Thursday > Brand New
"(A Fever You Can't Sweat Out) is mostly just watered down Thursday melodies dipped into annoying theatrical bullshit arena pop-rock."
A Fever You Cant Sweat Out has nothing to do with Thursday or Arena Rock. Its like dance-y electro Baroque Pop Punk.

Yes, Johnnyboi. Now watch the edgelords argue how the first one is their best album.

"Black Parade eats this alive sorry dude"
wait, is this tumblr

Nah, it's an existential faceoff: Pretend Midlife Crisis 101 vs. Life and (Mainly) Death Pantomime. If you don't take either all that seriously, one of these is much more gratifying than the other...

"(A Fever You Can't Sweat Out) is mostly just watered down Thursday melodies dipped into annoying theatrical bullshit arena pop-rock."
sounds like a forced comparison

Eh, was just replacing a good album with a bad one in the big emo albums of the time. The last part of that sentence is on the money though.

Geoff Rickly produced the first MCR album. It's not bad.
