Probably any Jimmy Eat World album that he’s (probably never) heard.

It's no fun if you shoot for the weak spot every time :[
I volunteer Mellon Collie, Teen Dream and Alligator - show me the science!

I think zak actually likes the Pumpkins, no? I know he grew up a lot of the same 90s bands I did with and seems to (mostly) like them.

He may not like TDAG, but I know he’s a big fan of Deja Entendu.

But where does the bloat/nebula/suaveness end and the flim flam begin
Yeah Pumpkins was a risky step into 90s territory but if any album sums up the lack of direction and impotent vocals that flim flam brings to mind for me, it's that one

Basically, what Zak calls film flam is the shitty sadboi American music scene of the past decade. Thank fuck it hasn't spread that much outside the continent.

Album is very sad.

But what makes a song like Luca shitty sadboi music and a song like No Surprises or Women Who Love Men Who Love Drugs not shitty sadboi music other than the admittedly welcome Brit accents? Both are my jam so mainly poking this along out of curiosity, but in our way we've been responsibility for a whole range of mopey downers as a nation ngl

Women Who Love Men Who Love Drugs

Surely you notice the difference between the level of musicianship here and that in the output of the other artists I've mentioned?

In a nutshell.

You’re either sadboi or you ain’t just like you’re either real deal or you ain’t and 98% of these fuckers most definitely ain’t.

Well, yes of course (and that song is leagues above anything that's been mentioned so far imo) but it's appeal is more sadcore than technical imo. Might not have been the best example - pick any late 90s/early 00s Anathema song

Well, I wasn't necessarily shitting on sad music in general, just on a particular niche.
