Troy's vocals on Blood & Thunder are glorious, he's Captain-fucking-Ahab himself. And the live version from Roskilde is so fucking perfect, he sounds so massive.

This is still my favorite Mastodon album. I loved how "Blood and Thunder" started playing in The Big Short movie.

the big short had some nice songs playing in the background and Blood and Thunder was indeed the best of them.

Awesome cut but it's a crime that it's their most recognized track. Mastodon have recorded much better songs.

I guess it just serves so well as an opener that people tend to remember it more that way. Granted, they got better songs but it's such a juicy song that of course it's one of the most memorable.

Oblivion struck me harder when i first jammed CtS. The same goes for The Wolf is Loose from BM.

I was literally just about to say that. Blood and Thunder is better than The Wolf is Loose though, at least for me.
