I'm looking forward to the new one but wish they hadn’t just abandoned their classic sound. It's not about if Mikael does dm vocals or not, I don't even like that anymore anyway. It’s all about the amazing prog metal soundscapes that only they can do, from their best albums MAYH, SL, BWP especially, and GR.

I do dig Heritage but nowhere near as much as I dig this. Sorceress and Pale Communion suck ahrd though.

I have this and Heritage on a par. This is more dense but also more rewarding on repeated listens. Heritage was an easier listen but had less to say on revisits.

I do like Heritage but I remember almost nothing about it and I practically never get the urge to listen to it. Honestly, In Cauda Venenum is newpeth at their strongest.

Mikael is definitely one of my favorite prog vocalists. His growling technique is impressive, but I would argue that his clean vocals are even more impressive on their later output.
