Pretty much agreed, Wild. Jacob Bannon's screams can peel paint off the side of a car. Roughest, gnarliest shit I've ever heard come out of someone's mouth.
To death and storm, Converge have proven themselves time after time to be the best metalcore band, so ya'll two can abscond with all of this foolishness. The "rah rah man" line was pretty funny though, I won't lie to you.

lol, this whole site circle jerks Converge 24/7. I’m allowed to say they have one bad album. I still obviously like the band. 🙄
Their discography is way more consistent than it has any right to be. Y’all are just lying to yourselves about this particular album.

not really guy.
Single Tear, Arkhipov Calm, I Can Tell You About Pain, Wildlife, Murk and Marrow, and Reptilian are all some of my favorite Converge tracks.
It’s one of their worst albums but it’s so far from being bad. Like halo

Some bands just deserve to be jerked off. I actually don't like Arkhipov Calm though. lol The riffs on that are just really goofy for me.

Try saying anything negative about a Converge record on the Converge Cult Facebook group and everyone will jump down your throat and accuse you of being deaf and brain dead

I actually enjoy Single Tear (even if it's essentially Aimless Arrow mkII) & Arkhipov Calm, the rest varies between vaguely acceptable & why the feck is this on a Converge album.

I'm not even talking about people talking shit. I'm talking about someone saying Jane Doe isn't their best record and other people losing their minds, as if someone just insulted them. Like wat...
I will clarify that I absolutely love the group but if people can't even have different opinions, why bother having a group at all?

Demon, why is it Aimless Arrow MkII? I think the intro riff is reminiscent of Aimless Arrow sure, but I think the song carves out a pretty unique niche for itself. That build up to the climax of the song where Jake's screams "As a single teardrop fell" over those beautiful chords, nothing like that happens in the former song. More slow parts and different kinds of riffs generally, too.
Edit: Jane is best, but YFM is SUPER CLOSE.

This album is still very good...not everything is about testosterone, craziness yk....this is still pretty relentless for 40+ guys...and its a very nice entry for someone who's not into Converge's sound.

Of course it isn't exactly the same, I was being provocative, it does a similar job for me personally, but that's not necessarily an issue as I really like both tracks. I tend to listen to full albums & I'm much more inclined to spin AWLWLB (after giving this one a ton of chances to change my mind).
Jane Doe is their best, I can respect that not everyone feels that way mind. YFM & AWLWLB don't even make my top 3.

A Single Tear is a neutered Aimless Arrow with all of the grit and dissonance sanded off the edges. I will admit that I adore that buildup, but then it goes into that double bass section and that lame chorus and my brain just zzzzzzsssss. That's kind of representative of this album as a whole for me. Sanded edges and really great parts mixed with really lame parts.

Aimless is one of their more melodic songs imo. But I get what you mean for sure.

Album is beautiful and its full of beautiful moments. Tamer doesn't have to mean bad. I like to see these bands transforming with this kind of quality, they're just not relentless kids anymore. Its very common to see so called oldschool fans not keeping up with this kind changes.

Not trying to be a dick but don't project your idea that I'm some fan incapable of accepting change onto me just because I hear something differently than you do
