nothing tops the 1-2 punch of the battery & master combination.....that was my introduction to metallica, when i was 10 haha
it was too heavy for me at the time, didn't fully appreciate them until Justice settled in

Battery followed by the T/T is one of the sickest 1/2 punches ever

Are there any alternate remasters of Metallica's older albums that tone down the loud bass reverb that makes my eardrums nearly explode?

Oh so that explains why the bass in almost muted in AJFA LOL

AJFA has the same problem. Some kind of reverb on the lower frequencies coming from who knows what, maybe the 6-string guitars, maybe the bass guitar. It sort of sounds like how club music sounds from outside of the club, where everything you hear is mainly lower frequencies.
It's pretty much an unpleasant echo, at least for me. I'd enjoy these albums more if it wasn't there.

EQ your speakers properly
|
| |
pretty sure it's just hetfield's scooped mids and 80s reverb giving you a fuck on those records
nothing to be done with it

I'm just surprised no one else is sensitive to it like I am.
