Furnaces is literally a parody of fascism, idk what’s hard to understand about that. “We will free you from freedom.” It’s meant to depict authoritarianism in a negative light. I don’t get hating this band’s music for sketchy nazi ties. You can’t be an even slightly objective metal fan and say this is below a 3.5, especially when lyrics are just about God and Satan and their fucked relationship with humanity. Nothing to do with worldly politics.

I’m a political leftist and a racial minority. I get what you’re saying. I’m just saying that I think the lyrics come off as a critique of fascism to me. And either way, the music isn’t a whole ass 1 because of bad politics. Like the riffs are genius and that’s pretty close to a fact to me. Deathspell songs are gold like the sky is blue.
