It just means I strongly disagree with the praise the album gets. Surely, you have some albums with high averages that you think are total bs? Everyone has those.

Edit: OK, that's weird, we mentioned each other at the same time. I feel dirty.

Demon, I feel a very strong connection between us. Good thing I'm not naked right now.

absolutely, was just asking for some reasoning on such strong statement, not just "well i hate it and it bores me" because that doesn't really provide much. obviously you don't have to give any more reasoning than that

Well, like I said, it tries to blend the post-rock aspect with the sound they established on their previous records but it just doesn't do it for me. Take Gravity Rides Everything, for example. Or Dark Center of the Universe. I don't like the way they handle those transitions from quiet post to loud indie. The vocals, I like though. But they can't carry the album, right? That's just one of the gripes. Obviously, someone like you, who loves this album, will say the complete opposite and then we'll have to agree to disagree.

as i thought considering that's the most conventionally post-rock structured song on the album. starting to see where you're coming from on this

Yes, I like how the tempo gradually shifts and kicks into gear - the build-up works very nicely.

Sounds to me Pika like you’re not really meeting the album on its own terms (I really don’t see how there’s any post-rock influence here other than the last few minutes of Projectors and I guess Cold Part) but you do you.

Did I just summon you by saying black metal or something? Neat power I've acquired there.

Also you should check this and complete the Modest Mouse set of ratings you have going.

Damn Hawks, you haven’t listened to this man?! Get on it dude. Which other ones have you listened to? We Were Dead is really underrated imo, and Strangers to Ourselves isn’t nearly as bad as you heard — it’s actually a solid album.

But first — this.

No, just listen to this and don't go any further.

Ever.

Never.

Unless you really want to, then go ahead I can't stop you from doing what you want.
