Threshold of Transformation is top 3 Isis for me. Especially that opening

I ranked every song on their LPs several years back and think it landed near the top

weird take but to me it seems like ranking songs would be the equivelant of bragging to your friends or family about which wrestler has better stamina and composure. sure they hear you but do they really give a shit?

I’ll be honest ranked lists are mostly garbage but I do like if someone offers detailed explanations for why they enjoy certain albums more than others. It’s a site for music discussion so that’s what you’re going to see

But people can def stop posting lists with ONLY ranks and no explanations

absolutely nothing. it just seems to me that ranking albums, songs, bands etc is corny especially on the internet. if we were all in one room just chilling listening to music and talking about music im sure no one would spaz out and start negating everything someone says about a particular song, we would wait and reflect in that moment (hopefully). i see it like this. people take this way too seriously over the internet and it becomes trite. sure id love to hear what you like with no elitism but youre taking what i said out of context to make it seem like i am atgainst things that people love. are you always like this or is there a side of you that rhymes over reason?

Sorry I wasn’t trying to misrepresent what you said, you just seem to be coming at the topic from a pretty negative viewpoint. Yea people so take shot too seriously and a lot of lists are pretty garbage but let’s go back to Johnny’s list. First thing, it’s six years old so his reasons for making it are pretty irrelevant now. Second, it’s 40 entries with a short description of each track as well as the track’s strengths and weaknesses. It’s pretty clearly a labor of love to Isis meant to spark discussion in a community that also loves the band and those are the good kinds of lists imo.

Yea there are people that get pretty heavy with the elitism but it’s not hard to brush it off
