tbh i think the production on their modern albums is very boring. in fact a lot of newer thrash sounds like that and i think it detracts from the music itself.
regardless the idea that exodus are "heavy as fuck" by thrash standards in a genre where bands like demolition hammer, morbid saint, sadus, slaughter, thanatos etc exist is a little silly to me

They can't be looked upon in the same realm as those bands because those are the very bands that blurred the line between death and thrash. Thrash seems to be in some big hierarchy in defining heaviness.
