around 33% of Kveikur is the perfect Sigur Ros album for people who don't like Sigur Ros
and another 33% is their best pop stuff

what about the remaining 34%

innocuous, forgettable and far from fatal
|
| |
This album is the antithesis of my entire being.
|
| |
that was me when i listened to twilight force
|
| |
power metal is one of the worst genres of all time yeh
post-rock is also down there
|
| |
ive tried to listen to sigur ros multiple times now and i get very bored

| |
Power metal might actually be the all time worst

a lot of power metal can kinda get by on a don't-take-ur-self-so-seriously! disclaimer (unlike thrash/death/whatev), but twilight force is way over that edge

“ lot of power metal can kinda get by on a don't-take-ur-self-so-seriously! disclaimer”
This should be true but try making fun of power metal to power metal simps and see how un-seriously they take themselves
|
| |
the extreme seriousness of dm/bm combined with its obvious ridiculousnessness is another reason why i enjoy it
power metal is just plain ridiculous and not in a good way

that's definitely true for bm, bonus points for triplets and camp folk riffs
|
| |
I can agree to that for bm because I can also vibe with some of the atmospherics and shreddage but dm riffery does nothing for me and the vocals are just ugh
|
| |
the only good dm is the artificial brain and pyrrhon-esque shit, not the esoterica mysticulan fundiblam ov neverna lame shit
|
| |
I do prefer that also
|
| |
Some tech is ok

unquestionable presence probably the most reliable pleb answer
|
| |
tbh tech is the only sorta dm ive found that i liked
but anyway, as of a week or so ago ive decided metal music is poop and i wont be listening to any new stuff for a whole year
turns out jazz, hip hop and sophisti-pop makes a nice vibe
