fantano has an irritating fanbase (and equally irritating set of rabid detractors) yes
can you explain how that amounts to him "doing it all the time"

i really do not have the mental capacity to indulge in ben shapiro style debate tactics right now

"pu erh"
i had legit never heard of this and initially read it as a cracked abbreviation of pig destroyer lol. this looks rad, will investigate responsibly
|

johnny please answer my question it is far more important than this
edit: thank you for answering, i strongly recommend it if you are a teahead
|

"his fanboys treat him like a be-all even if he himself is inoffensive tbh. just look at the "fantano effect" bullshit."
so not the reviewer?
|
| |
"ben shapiro style debate tactics"
gonna take the liberty of suggesting that generically criticising someone for something, refusing to substantiate why he specifically is at fault, and then blaming his entire fanbase instead of doubling down on your point is some primo shapiro-tier bullshit if ever i did see it

johnny it's clear you're trying to gotcha me. i'm not in the headspace to substantiate shit so hyper "objectively". if i'm wrong then i'm wrong.

"i am not a regular teahead but defs down to infuse lfg"
not only are you british but you also lived in japan, this necessitates consuming mass quantities of tea
|

my gf got me an expensive-ass brick of pu erh for my birthday, shit is literally like crack. i feel a little closer to the gods when i drink it

tea, like any liquid, would make johnny short circuit. he is nothing but an AI program created by colton to be his foil

you still haven't substantiated how your opinion on Reznor is somehow "objective" from this:
"where trent reznor tried to defend the downward spiral's recording process and inspiration as anything but edgy poser bullshit there's a lotta scary shit out in the objective world"

i am trying to work out exactly what the hell you are talking about with your preconception with objectivist reviewers, which i am kinda forced to assume is a glorified "yuh opinion" -type cope if you're not going to engage a little more specifically
and if you don't want to, then that's all well and good and ciao to this discussion, but maybe don't sling that mud quite so freely if you're not a fan of cold hard substance yh?
"you still haven't substantiated how your opinion on Reznor is somehow "objective" from this"
my opinion on him is not objective. it is subjective. it is an opinion. the interview that i will be forced to pull up shortly if you insist on flogging this horse is objective (in the sense that he actually said those words and that they were accurately recorded). there is a subjective element in that they are immensely unflattering, but i'm sure you'll manage that legwork by yourself
|

"not only are you british but you also lived in japan, this necessitates consuming mass quantities of tea"
consuming tea in the UK = drinking mud
consuming tea in japan (unless you're into the traditional ritual stuff) = drinking water but better
this crack trip herb magic is a new one for me, hyped

literally anything is better than american tea culture
in the south "tea" means diabetes-sweet and iced
iced tea in general is far more popular
its a sad state of affairs

johnny real talk i was genuinely just surprised you're as big a fan of this as your rating suggests considering it falls just as much into the "edgy angst bullshit" camp as stuff you've been on record as saying you did not like.
i've seen you with quite a few critiques at artists that, in my humble opinion, do effectively the same type of thing MCR did in the 2000s - the scathing deconstruction of ILIIAITE comes to mind immediately. so it was out of left field that this is okay and, say, the downward spiral or the aforementioned one i just named, isn't.
and sure, whatever, let's go with that, i think i'd be inclined to believe reznor though as i feel that album is a masterclass in its portrayal of complete self-destruction.
