Okay ya that To Be Gentle LP is fucking tight, but, like with talking about the Frail Body LP or something like Portrayal of Guilt, this is much more polished/just on the complete opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to screamo. Ya, sure, they can all be described as Screamo/Post Hardcore but it’s almost silly to compare them. They’re vastly different.

I like To Be Gentle a great deal but yeah, you're right - this is very different in style and execution. Listening again right now - I don't think I will ever tire of listening to this.

To Be Gentle dont have the quality songwriting or cohesiveness COTM has even tho the production is undeniable. It is good enough but by comparing it to this it just shrinks to rubble

imagine if they somehow top this.

…I really gotta see these guys live. If they headline ANYWHERE within a 6 hour drive I’m there, which is code for “probably Chicago”. Witnessing No Gospel live would make me believe in god again. Are they still playing with one guitarist? I imagine it’s incredibly difficult to make some of these tracks work with only one.

Also, homeboy is ridiculously talented. Incredible songwriting, great clean singing voice, ear piercing shrieks, and plays guitar as well? I can play and sing at the same time but only the most simplistic shit, musicians that can do both forever have my admiration. It might seem obvious but it is so insanely difficult.

Checking in again from 2026, yep this kicks ass and is still my undisputed album of the decade.

Yeah I'd love to see this band live too, hopefully one day they'll tour in Europe with some UK gigs.

"musicians that can do both forever have my admiration" Yeah same, especially guitarists and drummers that also do lead vocals, the most I can manage is a bit of backing vocals whilst playing bass lol

Europe shows sign me tf up!

Topping this would be a near impossible task, but if they can do something close id be one happy guy!

The musicianship on this is something else. Making an album like this is rare and something most bands can only dream of
