I don't necessarily link them to specific events, more of a general feeling or a distant memory, the memory isn't of something tangible happening to me that can be described or pinpointed though. It's weird and incredibly difficult to describe.
There's one album that essentially became impossible for me to listen to unless I wanted to put myself through emotional trauma, but that's the exception rather than the rule.
