Ooooh good one, I think I agree. Couldn't really think of any when I saw the list, but this definitely qualifies.

Oh this album. Those buzz-saw-y riffs in combination with the rest are soooooooo good!

"This is monolithic." [2] for sure.

Ihsahn is the obvious response but it's way more proggy, so Windir [2], Dissection and Crimson Moonlight (less known but slays)

This album is pretty much the peak of black metal, but there are some others worth checking:

Immortal - At The Heart of Winter

Thorns - s/t

Batushka - Litourgiya

Behemoth - Demigod

Blut Aus Nord - The Work Which Transforms God (I also love Hallucinogen if you want black metal with a bit more of a psychadelic side)

Dissection - Storm of the Lights Bane

And then some lesser known stuff thats super melodic and brvtal:

Misthyrming - Algleymi

Any Skaphe album

Leviathan - Scar Sighted

Panzerfaust - The Suns of Perdition - Chapter II

perfect blend of riffs and atmosphere, with the extra personality of Sogn, Valfar's homeland. a beautiful, but tragically short, discog.

Agreed with all above recs. Definitely give Summoning a shot as well. Plus the first 4 Cradle of Filth albums are essential if you're digging this. Also try Engraved in Black by Graveworm and The Pagan Prosperity by Old Man's Child. First 2 Satyricon albums also. Shit there's so much lol.
