Can I just say, that I always really liked this album, and think the hate it gets is overblown? Like okay, its hard rock but it also has some of the fattest, grooviest riffs they've ever wrote.

Always thought Ronnie was really endearing too yeah, never understood the hate for it. James pulls that kinda old-western vibe off really well.

Album is a lot of fun, and when it's more somber it's really emotive imo, Hero of the Day, Bleeding Me, Mama Said, so good.. S&M version of Bleeding Me is a classic

Ive always thought the same. Load and reload should’ve been a Metallica side project. I was shattered at the time when this came out. They went from Live shit binge and purge heroes to weirdos very quickly. They cut off their heavy metal manes, put on eyeliner, changed their logo and made a hard rock album. Would’ve been better under a different name. In saying all that Load is a great album in its own right but too ahead of its time
