Give me a minute to google if there is any other album with the same name as this one by another band with the same name as this one that could perhaps sound forced or calculated

Voyages is their least interesting/memorable. Heard it twice then stashed it away

Shelter is their least memorable by far imo, but still great. Although I would agree that Voyages is the one that's closest to its precursor in style (and the only one that actually sounds similar, even though it's much lighter than this.

Voyages' title track is probably my favorite Alcest song btw. One of my all time favorite songs.

I really like Shelter, hard to call it unmemorable when it's the aesthetic outlier in their discog

I was just gonna say, the only reason I could understand why Shelter would be more memorable is it being the softest/gaziest thing they did, but come on, within its style it's not that special. That's like saying it's memorable because it's the only one that isn't memorable.

It's still got some great songs on it though, Voix Sereines and Deliverance are among my favorites I've heard from the band

But at the general conversation before this will probably grow on me a fair amount with a few more listens but I don't think it will end up topping Souvenirs for me (which I've really fallen in love with over the past month)

Idk the second half of the t/t part 2 and the final track is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Those immersive guitar tones are just hnnnnnggg

This album was impactful at time of release partly because it's their first with harsh vocals. I bet a listener who heard Kodama first would find this less exciting for that reason.

Maybe that has something to do with it. This may not make much since since I don't listen to black metal but the black metal parts of this kind of sound like "black metal by numbers" to me and didn't feel very seamlessly integrated.

The Le Secret EP also had screams prior to this, so it wasn't entirely new, just for those who only knew Souvenirs and never got around to listen to that one. This one does it so much better though, and in terms of atmosphere it's one of my favorite albums ever
