Painkiller is a 5 in my books for its consistency, production, performances, and its standouts.

Don't remember much from painkiller too, damn i need to revisit priest hard. My list of 'to listen' albums is getting huge lol.

So Daniel, are you much into extreme metal subgenres? thrash/death/black/doom?
|
| |
I'm not a 'metal guy' exactly, so not much besides some thrash and doom.

If you want some accessible yet rough shit from thrash, german thrash is a good idea.
If you want some fun, heavy-as-fuck thrash, Exodus is a big rec.
If you want "intelligent man" thrash, early Annihilator, Coroner, Anacrusis, and Heathen are ideal.

They are pretty fucking heavy dude. Check Shovel Headed Kill Machine and Bonded By Blood for accuracy.

I'd recommend crossing Painkiller off your list tbh.

Knowing Daniel's taste, there's a high probability he won't dig Painkiller.

i don't know what to tell you or how to say this without sounding like a bit of an arse
exodus are great but not heavy as fuck by any means
and their later stuff is nowhere near as good as their early stuff

@manosg eh I guess you're right. Not everyone can appreciate the Painkiller's destructive tendencies I guess.
@park Their earlier stuff is undoubtedly better, but their guitar tones are quite fierce if you ask me. Sure, they got nothing on death metal in terms of heaviness, but those guitar tones though.

idk i reckon they're one of the best 80s bands still going.
gary definitely still knows how to craft a riff, and thats the most important thing!
