wow that blows. Obviously apart of the band for a long time, and contributed to their rhythm section being so tight.

idk how much of the music he actually wrote, but sadly I don't think this current iteration of UO has him or Tim having much input anyway

I’m gonna be hella petty and say, I bet he couldn’t commit the time to full touring and everything and they didn’t want him taking part of the money pot so 🥾

There's been something
something else
talkin' in my ear. i'd wager nash's guess is close to the truth

Someone on Reddit said:

In the Erase me documentary, James and Grant were hardly even on camera or mentioned.
Then in the Voyeurist documentary, Tim was like "yea, four of us write the music, james and grant are also here. That's how we work"

So yeah my guess is if you don’t write and don’t tour 👋🏻

apparently people asked why he wasn't on the Blind Obedience tour, and Chris said he was busy with family and stuff. They said he'd be back for the next one though, but I guess not....

think you hit the nail on the head though nash, much easier to kick him out if he can't fully commit. now they can just have a rotating cast of underpaid touring musicians

That's a shame. Going back and listening to this and DTGL the instrumentation is in a different league.

they feel more like a corporate brand, than a true band these days

there are like no memorable riffs on the new albums, like what the hell happened to the lead guitar? most of it is just a chug fest
