lower half of top 10 shoe-in, beyond that don't push it
this was a perfect album for its Moment, and ngl it already feels very past tense. didn't exactly imagine looking back on it several years from now and thinking that right there is an enduring classic, but the brat post-summer campaign wore off fast and i need time off from most of these tunes on an individual level

I've liked Charli in the past but my interest has just decreased over the years. This doesn't sound much different from How I'm Feeling Now, my returns have diminished with her and I just don't care anymore.

Not even remotely close? Maybe if you have your head firmly stuck in the ground...

What is this cultural phenomenom of brat summer? Something far more profound than just hedonism and egoism repacked, which google answers suggest? Or just a compelling way to sell these modern ways of ego worship as a way to self liberation? Not to blame an effective effort to ease the sense of alienation for a summer. This nostalgia is just somehow harder to grasp than something like my fathers vintage.

E. Researched and it seems to be more about breaking the norms of looks etc. Seems pretty amusing really. The framework of mass media culture just didn't allow it to actualize as much more than a fashion trend.

That's not an answer to my question.

There were so many great non-metal releases this year.

because a quick scroll through your ratings tells me you haven't gave any 2024 non-metal release above a 2.5

My taste is not relevant, so you can stop trying to make this personal.

I'll help you along:

The Cure - Songs of a Lost World

George Greep - The New Sound

Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future

Beth Gibbons - Lives Outgrown

Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us

Kendrick Lamar - GNX

Let me know if you need more.
