Albums like British Steel, alonside their other albums, are what make JP so special. As a pioneer of the genre, they never shoehorned themselves into one sound. It’s why I ultimately prefer them over Maiden (and why I love Killers so much), Maiden evolved their sound by always adding MORE whereas there is a lot of merit to stripping back and doing “more” with less. I’m also the biggest Priest fanboy on the site though, so grain of salt and all that

Maiden’s classic 7 all sound different. Every one of them. If there are 2 that are most similar, it’s the first 2.

For sure Titan, and don’t misunderstand me, I love both bands to death. My point was that each Maiden album was more and more ambitious, longer compositions, denser sounds, whereas Priest was capable of making amazing albums by reigning themselves in
