"This band started going downhill after they found a permanent clean singer, maybe the rotating door of dudes who are down bad was actually good for their creativity"
Yeah I love DGD just doing their DGD thing, but this one made me go "oh that sounds like *that* song" multiple times. If this is Tilian's swan song and they get a new singer I won't be upset at all.

Yeah, had the same thing. A lot of the songs just sound like mashups of previous ones in the Tilian era. I can imagine the stability of having a permanent vocalist is nice, but their overall sound doesn't seem to have benefited from it at all.

Will is the primary songwriter so idk why people are so hyper focused on blaming Tilian for everything sounding stale lol

People blame Tilian because he makes no attempt to infuse new ideas into his vocals. The same can certainly be said for Will too and to a certain extent Mess. It’s like each member of the band has their own template for all of their songs and they just toss songs together.

Yeah to me it isn’t Tilian at all

it's amazing how important context is. LP2 by Secret Band had to be some of Will's best writing yet (despite Mess clearly being the star there). not sure who is the primary Royal Coda writer, i can see it being Sergio/Will collabing mostly but that new stuff is great/barely resembles current DGD

The band as a whole has been tired and out of ideas for years. It can't be pinned on any one member, they've all been mutually spinning the wheel of futility for a while. It's easy enough to blame Tilian since his voice has always been divisive and, in the context of recent news, he might not be a pleasant fella. . . . .

tbh DGD just seems like a band that time has passed by. They had their moment but society has moved passed the need of DGD

As far as I know it's been Sergio the whole time, but Will's influence can certainly be felt with the stuff he's been on since joining

It feels like I’m the only one who thinks it’ll still be a decent album

For what its worth I definitely prefer it over this album. No cringy songs in Spanish either so that's a plus
Andrew definitely spices things up on the new one.

Feels Bad Man is one of the worst songs they've made outside of obvious flops like Parallels and Calentamiento
Tilian really cant help himself with the overbearing and frankly offputting vocal layering and high notes that are SO unnatural. Also, what is with the dollar store Rock Solid instrumental behind it? Mess also sounds legit bad on it.

Hey vult do you still like DGD or what? Tell us how you really feel

gasp i guess not

Y'all coming down way too hard on this, it's their best work since Mothership. Mess is innovating his screams into forms, and the instrumentation sounds great. Really seems like you guys just don't like DGD.
