Only behind Heritage for me, but it's super good and lovely indeed.

True, it's my second fave behind that one too.

Agreed, but hope they go in a new direction or shake things up somehow with the new one. Theyโ€™ve had plenty of time to work on it.

This album has grown on me through the years, much like the general Opeth style. Mikael has a tendency to oversing here, but 99% of the time sounds stellar in doing so, and their songwriting is perhaps the most cohesive it's been. Rarely do I feel an idea overstays its welcome, which is something older Opeth albums in all of their genius occasionally cause, sadly. Really excited for what comes next for the band

So not only are Opeth currently working on the next record, but they got Ian Anderson on quite a few tracks! HYPE

Also pending judgement on this album, Heritage is also my fav of the new era.

i rlly gotta give post-watershed a second look. i remembered being really disappointed by heritage coming off of expecting more damnation vibes.

This definitely up to the standards of their pre-Watershed works. I don't know why this isn't as well recieved tbh.

Yeah, this is easily my favorite post-Watershed Opeth album, and I actually prefer it to several of the pre-Watershed ones tbh

I definitely prefer this to Deliverance and Orchid and I'll probably put this on the same level (maybe higher) as Damnation.

This album is actually good despite me really not liking the direction they took on their last four albums. I'm excited knowing there is probably another record coming around the corner and it if similar to this one I think I will be pleased.

Hopefully they combine their two eras into one on the next album. Doesn't have to be dm but something a little heavier again would be nice.

"Also Heritage is top 4 Opeth for me it's amazing."

part of me wants to go on my usual rant i go on, but i really haven't heard it in years. maybe i'll find something else to love about it. but it had me underwhelmed mostly because before i'd heard it, i'd been listening to damnation like crazy, hoping the post-Watershed era was on that level. and when it wasn't, i got a little pissy lol
