Yeah man LOATR is absolutely one of my all time favorite LP songs. Didn’t even know it was on the twilight soundtrack lol. But so was that amazing Paramore song so seems it was a solid S/T.

Yeah, LOATR and Decode are amazing. Seems Supermassive Black Hole by Muse is on the soundtrack too, which is... the only Muse track I tolerate. A local band keeps performing it and it sounds leagues better.

News from the front!!!!!! I went to church (as usual for the weekend) I didn't feel very good. I usually don't, but I saw a male teenager come back from communion definitely earlier teen and I was thinking. Oh Cool, that guy wanted to wear his Hybrid Theory Linkin Park shirt to church.
Just for an odd throwaway I remember wearing a Dead Kennedys shirt to church. I thought that was inappropriate of me. I was kinda impressed with the gumption there displayed of wearing some Linkin Park to church. I don't know how to end this comment, but it is a really good album! I would have never made this comment if I didn't actually see a t-shirt there.

People really don't know how to look appropriately in such places these days. At least it's not the level of that one woman from my area who came to a funeral wearing a neon pink dress.

The year 2000 saw the release of three nu metal albums that represented the potential routes the genre would take following their release, each at opposing ends in terms of approach:
- Deftones - White Pony
- Mudvayne - LD50
- Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
White Pony represented a nu metal band actively trying to grow past the genre while still being rooted within it. Elements not associated with the scene are utilized, like heavily processed drum tones and songs that could be categorized within the shoegaze sound, all while traditional elements such as jumpdafukup grooves are utilized to appease the Ozzfest crowd.
LD50 firmly bases itself within the genre and the tropes associated with it, such as slap bass and lyrical themes of angst. However, with this album the band attempts to reach a technical highpoint for the movement, featuring lengthy compositions with atypical song structures, as well as the unique quality of utilizing the bass as a lead instrument.
Hybrid Theory neither attempts to move on from the nu metal crowd, nor upstand it - rather, it makes it as accessible as possible. Each track on the album could serve as a potential single, featuring melodic, catchy hooks with just enough distortion to not completely alienate youth looking for something to headbang to. Nu metal as a concept had crossover appeal, but while the earlier stars of the genre focused on extremity and shock value, Linkin Park xeroed in on dynamics such as the interplay between vocalists, relatable lyrics that appealed to emotions, and a DJ that made a really cool instrumental track.
These three albums are all considered essentials within the Hot Topic canon, however in the end the genre took the secret fourth way - Taproot's Gift. Basically just some downtuned butt rock with a lot of corny clean singing.
