"I'm telling you right now, you don't know Hip Hop if you don't know KRS-One, you have the most pathetic view of one of the best genres that was purposely given to you by MTV. Jesus christ. Return of the Boom Bap or KRS-One are way better than Illmatic or anything by Public Enemy. KRS just has respect for them actually staying true to Hip Hop that he won't come out and say it. Listen to literally any CD by KRS-One or Boogie Down Productions and you will realize none of this shit even comes close, and yeah Illmatic is awesome but it is SOOOOOOOOOOO OVERATED; just about every KRS album is better"
Are you for real?

It is apparent that all you care about in music is its lyrical content, and if it isn't overtly in-your-face "facts" then you seemingly discount it for being bad. For instance, take the way Tarantino's Pulp Fiction threw a intelligent, talky script at your face in order to relay his message to the audience to someone like Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive which uses ambiance, facial emotions and good angles to portray the film. Both films are fantastic, yet neither film uses the same techniques in order to be great. I've grown so tiresome of your one-sided posts that I find it mildly entertaining that your objectivity score on here says, "Fairly Balanced." Indeed, much like Fox News you are screaming out "facts" that are dogmatically one-sided. In case you hadn't realized it by now, what I'm trying to say is broaden your horizon. I've listened to both The Return of... and KRS's self-titled as well as Criminal Minded and BAMN they are both great, but in their own style.

you make good points but it just kind of seems you're trying to knock on the mainstream. there are limited themes to work on. but if you don't like it it's cool. you're allowed

yeah, that is the old cliche, although it's true to a degree, I think it's clouding judgement these days cause we're looking for anything that is an aspect of mainstream
