Your rating needs a buff

3.5-4 is fair, honestly.

Anything lower than a 4.5 needs a buff. I'm a little disappointed Hawks, but you get a pass for being the coolest metal head here. I'd say KILL but where's he been?

Kill has abandoned his children

Album Rating: 4.8
Kill has been MIA sadly. I love this but I find it a bit overrated honestly. It’s Death though and all Death rules.

His lack of presence here is definitely felt...
But yes all Death rules. m/

For 1991, this is a bit slim compared to other efforts like Manic Impressions, Raging Romance, Mental Vortex, Awakening, Unquestionable Presence and others. Together as One and Cosmic Sea kind of push it over the hump into a 4 range for me otherwise but I can see how someone would rate it less.

Yeah, that guy seemed pretty cool. Only guy to even review bands like Sacred Blade.

Mental Cortex is better agreed.

I'll bump this down a notch since I have Symbolic at 5. Still a dm classic though.

I also like The Sound of Perseverance a tiny bit more tbh.

Mental vortex doesn't hold a candle to this imo

No, unlike The Sound of Perseverance, this actually has interesting composition and good ideas. This literally could have just been a Cosmic Sea single and it would still be better than that album.

@Source nah man that album is just majestic. Possibly the best thrash album ever.
@Casavir You don't like that album?

Album Rating: 4.5
I'm really lukewarm towards it but the amount of praise it gets despite its gaping flaws, even within the context of Death's own discography, is astounding and only makes it more annoying.

The Sound of Perseverance sounds like just above average progressive metal played by a death metal band.
Also Cosmic Sea best piece here.

Album Rating: 4.5
No, it sounds like an above average prog metal drummer with two guitarists vainly attempting to be clever when they really aren't.
