can imagine Absence or Panopticon fitting but this is so dense aha. kinda biased because i clicked ultra hard to Amon Tobin - Out From Out Where when reading Dance Dance Dance and that is now the sound of all Murakami in my mind lol

Dance Dance Dance is one of the few Murakami I haven't read yet, I was more into his surreal works like HW and Kafka but changed my mind reading Norwegian Wood. Normally I go for some soft instrumental post rock since vocals can sometimes be distracting but Isis does it for me just fine, and Ausserwelt too. I'm also trying to start reading 1Q84 but it's so HUGE I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed ahaha
