I know its probably been said before but:
"eww they released it...
these guys wont be around or remebered for being great in the next 10 years."
I'll take things that aged poorly for 2000.

the 2006 comments here are a head trip holy shit
"I'm just saying, if they made an album chock full of positive moral values and telling kids to be happy and such, this little "emo" culture we see at high school would probably disappear. They have the power." the ignorant brat who said this has no clue how depression and anxiety work
|

this is literally the only important rock album made after ok computer

It's also not even my favorite MCR album, but tbf their first two are both in my all time top 10
Tbh johnny I expected you to be meh on this band too cuz of your "anti mainstream" bent
|
| |
This is ok computer’s concluding statement for rock music.
|
| |
i literally have a pop pie slice and could not care less how mainstream whatever music is; if something is mainstream and shite, i am just disproportionately more likely to have heard it sort your optics and mathematics out

Or the impact of being a good parent. So many people have depression, but is it chemical imbalances for all of them or is that just a way of coping with the fact that most of us aren’t taught how to actually, constructively navigate our emotions, have relationships, or handle hardships, etc?
For some, chemical. For others, situational and they need to fix it and be taught how to do so. Most people aren’t taught this, though, and growing up, still many have parents whom don’t exemplify the ways to handle problems and discourse and conduct to regulate our own emotions, traumas, and issues

porc he was being needlessly judgmental over me liking NIN a while back and i've lost count of how many times i've been chided for liking music like this by him lol

Anyways the stretch of Cancer through Famous Last Words would flow a little better if Teenagers was moved before it
|
| |
NIN is bullshit because it's shit-tier angst music dressed up in inconsistently well-suiting polish lol, not because it's popular
and if being shit-tier angst music is what made it popular, in what universe would that suggest that all popular things are bad
how do you sustain these gymnastics i am in awe

Well that's just like. Your opinion.
|
| |
well yes it is better for all of us if i state an opinion rather than copypasting hilarious interview quotes where trent reznor tried to defend the downward spiral's recording process and inspiration as anything but edgy poser bullshit there's a lotta scary shit out in the objective world

The "objective world", in a subjective medium. Good grief.
|
| |
The lyrics and facade always seemed like Trent WANTS to be dark so he does the things and says the words and pushes the right buttons. But is he actually dark inside? Maybe. If so, it’s probably hidden and what we get is what he’s willing to give.

I'd reckon early on that he was pretty damn self destructive and dark but as time went on he calmed down. Hesitation Marks is one I wound up returning to and digging once I got over that it wasn't as edgy as the old stuff.
