Serj is kind of a diva. Darron isn’t much without him, but I feel bad for the amount of slack that Darron had to pick up for those albums. Band fizzled out quick, and it’s kind of on Serj in hindsight.

Mesmerize and Hypnotize just need to be edited down into a single album and call it Mesmertize. There is some really good stuff on both albums but neither are equal to their previous stuff. But you could make a very solid SOAD album if you use the select cuts.
