Personally this is an easy choice for me from a UI standpoint, but I also respect Spotify for being the first real, legally viable streaming platform that was made fun of and criticized for years by Apple before they caved and ripped the whole model.

If Apple implemented the social integrations and band-created tour playlists like Spotify it'd be over for Spotify. The sound quality difference alone is dramatic. I have both though since I get Spotify at a discount but if I had to choose one it'd be Apple Music.

I have ~400 Spotify playlists and have been a loyal user for 12 years. Please stop talking about how its sound quality is inferior. I have avoided ever comparing against apple musics sound quality for fear that apple is better.

I've used Apple Music with Android and though it was just fine but I switched back to iPhone 5 years ago so I can't speak for how it is now.
Apple Music's sound quality is noticeably better if you're listening with headphones or in the car. It's what'll likely have me just stick with Apple Music in the long run.

I don't have any issues with it. Spotify's looks sleeker and the recently added/listened to sidebar is super convenient but otherwise they're functionally the same.

@Relinquished I was speaking about Apple's UI in general on the iphone. I dont know what how apple musics UI has evolved over time, but can't imagine its a great trajectory given what they did to the photo app.
