I Know The End and Punisher are easily her top 2 for me and i'd still call this a tad more consistent/interesting than Stranger.

some of the lower ratings are probably just antihype since Punisher got a lot more attention than Stranger

this album has a higher ceiling and a higher floor than Stranger, IMO

"yeah but the highs ain't as high"

I mean Motion Sickness, Funeral, and Scott Street are amazing songs, but so are I Know the End, Chinese Satellite, and Kyoto

'So weird to me that this is rated lower than Stranger when this is so much more consistent'

Yes, it is more consistent--consistently inferior to Smoke Signals.

Ok, so I re-read my Stranger review from 2018 and apparently I was lot more positive about Smoke Signals back then than I am now:

"Opener “Smoke Signals” immediately sets the tone, blending clean-channel echo-swathed guitars with the light glaze of symphonic strings that sound like they came straight from Vespertine. From the first time that sad, draining motif hits the ears, the mix of sadness and beauty is intoxicating."

genuinely proud of you for referring to it as that. can we just do away with the term post hardcore altogether now

you have already done away with the term post hardcore by repeatedly using it without any understanding of its meaning or application so imma call that a moot question
