On an album related note, this keeps growing. My first listen was super disappointing but it's gradually unlocking for me.

@Frippertronics I don't watch Rick and Morty and I've never even done psychedelics (however I would like to experiment). I also don't watch Joe Rogan for that matter. But nice job trying to psychoanalyze me with your internet meme knowledge.

If I had the will and the patience I could see this growing a bit for sure, tool was never immediate back when I first started listening to them as a kid either

Yeah, I get people not having the motivation to invest in this. Fair.

I don’t want to turn this into a sob session fellows, butigenhunely and truly appreciate the comments. Past six months of my life have been by far the worst and I struggle to even make it through each day. This album helps. Sorry that I took it personally. 10k Days came out when we started dating, now this comes out at the end. It’s overwhelming. But I would really rather just drop it. I’ll find a way through. There are two reasons I have no choice.

"any props I'd have for Maynard and Jones are drastically offset by the pointlessness of that 13 year wait in conjunction with their respective celebrity obnoxiousness & crap lyrics, and basic bitch performance."

I can see how you feel that applies to MJK, but to Jones?! Whaaat? How is he an obnoxious celeb and how is his performance here subpar?!

Like what’s your favorite Tool album? Not into Lateralus at all?

That makes more sense nightbringer, instead of "yeaah I listened to this a million times and still sucks!" There s various ways of relistening..lol the honest and positive one, and one flaws focused, that s not enjoying music imo...and then just say "I really want to like this" bah bullshit I say.

If this album is a good thing in your life Lark all power to it, sounds like you need that release, just realise that actually no one here is begrudging you enjoying it

"no one here is begrudging you enjoying it"

And even if someone would, you shouldn't care.

About the album, it's definitely my least favorite of them since Undertow, but I still quite enjoy a good chunk of it after a few listens. Definitely a lot of fat that could/should have been cut for an album 13 years in the making.
