Masterpiece of a song. Masterpiece of an album.

I would even call it one of the best albums ever recorded. Just one of the most powerful, emotionally resonant and cohesive albums ever.

The lyrics on The Silence have to be up there with some of the best ever written.

There is nothing you keep, there is only your reflection

You can go anywhere but you are where you came from

Little girl you are cursed by my ancestry

There is nothing but darkness and agony

I can not only see, but you stopped me from blinking

Let me watch you as close as a memory

Let me hold you above all the misery

Let me open my eyes and be glad that I got here

Top notch lyrics. MO in general tbh. I know they experienced a massive “set-back” (and I feel that phrase minimizes it even), but I’m wondering about the new album. The last one was good but a bit too laid back and lacking in variety/dynamics. Still like a 3/3.5 album though.

I was referring to The Million Masks of God btw. The Valley of Vision thing was more an experiment than an album I’d include in say, a ranking of their albums. It was ok for a few listens but meh.

I love MMOG but even I'll admit it's a bit safe. The new one will be the last to feature Very's drumming so no matter how it sounds I just hope the band gets a sense of closure from it.

MMOG is a bit safe but I would argue distancing away from the style of Black Mile too soon would be foolish on their part. They did some experimenting with Valley of Vision and that was good.

Experimenting is good for sure, especially after MMOG feeling a bit…bland. I guess safe is more fitting. Or subdued. Still a good album. Tough to follow up A Black Mile.

I do get a feeling the next one will be another masterpiece along the lines of Black Mile, quality wise. Could even top it but I doubt it. A band making two albums that incredibly good — of that caliber — would be pretty crazy.

Don’t wanna get my hopes up too much lol, but yeah, I have pretty high expectations even after the last two albums— actually, it’s almost because of the last two. The restrained nature of MMOG and the experimentation of Valley…I just feel it leading somewhere incredible.

No pressure Andy! Lol
