Yeah, most people who can find meaning in three/five chords are the ones who will lead our community into the 23rd century. gtfo.

The number of songs AC/DC makes that don't sound alike out-number the ones that do. Sure some may sound alike b/c of their chords...but I think it's genius how the two brothers can come up with those chord progressions sounding as cool as they do. When you think about it...album by album, each one will sound different. Sometimes those same chords will show up but who cares? They will play simple music. Being complicated about your music doesn't make it good. Ever heard an Angus Young Solo? They're amazing! I have yet to hear anyone play like he can. And it ain't about being the fastest guitar player...it's playing the right thing at the exact time, which is what the two bros. are good at. When four guys hit the one note all at once-very few people can do that. People just seem to be worried about how many tricks they can do. Someone like Eddie Van Halen fiddles around a lot, and it tends to be like guitar exercises. People like Hendrix knew how to rip the hell out of it, but they still knew there had to be rhythm in there, too. That's what's missing a lot nowadays. It's a bit like Deep Purple-it's all technical, but there's none of the rhythm to back it up. It ain't easy playing AC/DC on the guitar either..it may seem easy b/c you know the chords...but it's HOW you play them. For example:
My cousin can play Eruption by Van Halen almost perfectly...it's not as hard as people think..it has a ton of repetability in it and there are lots of the same finger-techniques. Though my cousin still has trouble learning the main riff in Back In Black. That riff is full of dynamic and feeling Angus puts into it...and I have yet to hear it played as good as he can play it.
Sorry for long post lol

Yes my friend, that is when opinions differ. Each to their own. Everyone looks for different things in music.
AC/DC is energetic, play great music (I love playing their rock 'n roll), they're awesome to watch during live performances (most people say they're the best live band in ever), & they're the most down-to-earth people if you've ever met them.
I think keeping things simple, in terms of the guitar riffs, for the most part is the best way to go for listening purposes. Because if you play guitar, you might realize it can be quite hard to get their stuff down. But of course there are beautiful songs which are spead up and have complicated instruments...but AC/DC is not one of the bands for that.
I myself use to hate AC/DC so much! But here I am...less ignorant than before.

This is the best Brian Johnson album. But my favourite songs on here (besides Hells Bells) are the ones that are less popular. Shake a Leg and Have a Drink on Me are better than You Shook Me All Night Long and the title track IMO. There all good though.

The title track rules, fool! Altho, they are better than 'You Shook Me All Night Long'.

Bon Scott was better by far. He was a frontman, whereas I can imagine Brian Johnson being a singer with a guitar just from his voice, though it isn't true. Johnson is the more Hard Rock of the two, in a way, which explains his success somewhat. However, Bon Scott had much more charisma, and was so much more likeable. Not to say I don't like Brian Johnson, I really do, but he just isn't as good as Scott. Plus, T.N.T, the one that was only released in Australia was their best album imo. Almost everything released in the Bon Scott era is an AC/DC highlight, but BIB comes in at 3rd or 4th in the list, which is still amazing. It was undoubtedly the most influential of the albums, but not the best.

To all the "weekend Music Critics", you just have to understand that AC/DC isn't trying to be anything fancy. They just like loud, fun, catchy rock that people can enjoy.
I read somewhere Angus Young said he hates it when people say "man, you made 11 albums that all sound the same!" because he turns around and says "We made 12 Albums that all sound the same" (at the time they only had 12 out.)
This is a great album and deserves its classic status. Just put it on loud and rock out.

Or:The album that your 43 year-old stepfather blasts while he's driving in his crappy Honda, and thinking about how cool he is for liking AC/DC, and how Brootal it is (cause he was born in like, 10 bc) and how awesome he is for getting with your mum and ruining your life, and the very thought of it makes him sweat heavilly around the pitts of his faded Jim Beam singlet, so he puts on Black Ice and has a heart attack over how cool he thinks it is
