His lyrics are always lame. He's an atrocious, terribly bad lyricist. But at least on this album there's thematic backings to the songs, unlike later albums where he's just incoherently rambling.

do you think BTBAM needs someone else to write lyrics?

Nah, I like his rambling on their more recent stuff.

Uh...

The road is dry

I’m fucking delirious right now

life goes on

glorious evening of nodding and jump starts

I need to make a personal dance party

The brain works very weird at this hour

not the best time for lyrics I suppose

keep writing, keep dreaming

Nope, can't be awake and dream, drift in and out, in and out

eye motions

in out

heat lightning, scares us both

the only two people awake at this fucking hour

I won't remember this in the morning

at least I wrote this all down

please pick the right song

the one that keeps the eyes wide

creepy

yes, creepy

the idea of control

controlling death with alertness

when is the fucking sun coming up

Then it all changes, same scenery but sun involved

shouldn't be much different

You must be joking.

At least he has an excuse.

What excuse would that be? Lack of talent isn't an excuse, by the way.

Writing his lyrics at "not the best time for lyrics."

Lack of common sense and sleep medication are also good excuses.

That's not an excuse. It's not like he was held at gunpoint and forced to use them.

Yes, but that could be accredited to songwriting apathy and writing lyrics for the sake of having something to say, leading us to delve deeper into the psychological defects of Tommy Rogers.

Colors is so different from this one. But if you're talking quality , Yep , agreed.

But i like this one better 'cause it's got circus involved and i love Tim Burtonish ( yeah , it's a new phrase) locations. It's much heavier and harder to listen to which is a great challenge. "Mordecia" and "Camila Rhodes" fucking Rule.

By the way their new output is gonna be called "The Great Misdirect" which I don't like the title at all.

Real poets keep their subconscious at the tip of the brain iceberg.
