"You have to be joking me. It should be a sin to compare Iron Maiden with Green Day."

lol Iron Maiden and Green Day are my two favourite bands.

Rumour is going round that Maiden will release a new album this year!

I highly doubt that. They're still on a world tour.

True that, but its over in a few months, who's to say they haven't been writing while on the road.

Bruce said at the Melbourne show that the band would be back shortly, and I believe in a more recent show he told the crowd they are recording a new album to be released in 2009, and will be back to tour it.

I don't know what to think of that. I hope they wait another couple years before releasing anything. I'm very pleased with AMOLAD, but I think it needs more time to sink in as the newest of Maiden's discography.

I'm not too fussed. They have only played AMOLAD songs on the original tour, then they went out and did the 80's tour. In all honesty, I would much prefer a new album. This Message Edited On 01.20.09

I definitely don't like this as much as the band's older material, cannot get through it from start to finish in one sitting.

Dance Of Death was better "newer Maiden". Although this does have better artwork.

I much prefer this to Brave New World and Dance of Death. I'm one of the few, it would seem.

As do I. However, I think Brave New World, DOD, and this outrank a lot of their previous recordings.

Unless placing Seventh Son to 7 is a clever and subtle joke, your list is horribly, horribly blasphemous.

Whether it is subtle and clever is up to you.
Everyone has their opinions, i always found Seventh Son to be a little less Iron maiden than previous releases because of its sqeaky-clean production and relatively heavy use of synthesizers
