Butt Rockness in the cleans are undeniable, they're good though regardless. Pretty fun album.

Genuinely baffled by people using "butt rock" and Greyhaven in the same sentence. People are talking about this like it's some Nickleback sounding shit. Come on man.

As someone who lived thru the “nothing but rock” era I can confidently say that’s not a seriously negative aspect of this band. That term will get applied to any modern rock-adjacent band with a catchy chorus

Butt Rock has less to do with summarizing a genre and more so summarizing an era

nah these guys have the best instrumentals in core right now too
riffs are next level. guitars are tuned pretty low but they utilize it to get unique sounding open chords and don't really abuse the zeros at all. most other bands that play this style of core are in standard / drop d... so feel like the drop b tuning really sets them apart.
also love the way the bass is basically the rhythm guitar in this band. reminds me a lot the latter eras of converge and glassjaw. the bass is the meat of their sound while the guitar takes all the high end. they're treated like equals in the mix. i honestly prefer one guitar to two in this style for that reason.
drums also go really hard. in a vacuum i wouldn't think drums as obviously sampled as this band's would work in a band with an otherwise pretty organic sound... but the performance makes it work. just super forward balls to the wall especially with the fills.

I'd still pick Johnny Booth over these guys, both vocally and instrumentally
